How I Use AI
Effective date: August 2026 · Last reviewed: August 2026 · Owner: Midya U, Midya U Advisory
In brief: AI is part of how this practice runs. I use it for first drafts, research, fact-checking, working through client data, and running the business. I do not use it to form the analysis and judgment in client deliverables, to present anything as real that is not, or with confidential client material in consumer tools. I read everything I publish or send before it goes out, with one caveat about platform-generated ad variants set out below, and I am accountable for all of it.
I advise institutions on how to use AI in their marketing. It would be strange to do that without saying how I use it myself, so this page says it plainly. It is a description of my own practice rather than a policy, which means it can change when the work changes.
Where does Midya U Advisory use AI?
AI is part of how this practice runs. Specifically:
- First drafts. Articles on this site, LinkedIn posts, and the first pass of most long-form writing start as an AI draft that I then rewrite and cut. What publishes is mine.
- Research and synthesis. Reading across reports, policy updates, and sector coverage, and pulling out what is relevant to a question I am working on.
- Working through client data. In audits, AI helps me extract and organise material from the artifacts a client provides — putting numbers into a table, spotting gaps against a checklist, structuring a findings pack. See the limits below for how that data is handled.
- Fact-checking and source verification. Figures, dates and named policies in what I publish are checked against a primary source before it goes out, and that checking is itself AI-assisted. Where a source is limited, or where a read-across is my inference rather than a finding, the text says so in plain language. I review the result and I am accountable for every number that carries my name.
- Building and running the practice. This website, internal tooling, scheduling, bookkeeping support, and drafting routine correspondence.
Where is AI not used?
- Analysis and judgment in client deliverables. The findings, the recommendations, and the priority order in an audit report are mine. AI helps assemble the evidence and structure the document. It does not decide what the evidence means.
- Anything presented as real that is not. No generated images of people or places offered as photographs, and no invented quotes.
- Confidential client material in tools that train on it. Client data stays inside the terms of the engagement. I do not put client material into AI tools that train on it, or that sit outside the terms the client has agreed to. Where a client has its own data-residency or AI-use requirements, those govern, and I work inside them.
Who reviews the work?
I do. Midya U Advisory is a sole proprietorship, so there is one person accountable for everything published under this name and it is me. Nothing reaches a client, this site, or a social account without me reading it end to end. The one caveat is in the limits section below.
How is AI-generated content labelled?
Writing in Insights is edited and approved by me, and this page is the standing disclosure for it rather than a line repeated on every article. Where an image or a piece of media is AI-generated, it carries a visible label reading “AI-generated image” on the asset itself, rather than in a caption that can be cropped away.
What are the limits of this disclosure?
There is a limit worth naming. Advertising platforms generate headline and image variants automatically, and the tools I use to build and run this site have their own AI features layered in over time. I turn off automatic generation where the setting exists and I check it periodically. I cannot promise that no system in the chain has produced something I did not review, and a disclosure that claimed otherwise would not be true.
How often is this page reviewed?
This page is reviewed at least once a year, and sooner if my tools or the rules around them change. The review date at the top is the real one. If you are reading this more than a year after that date, treat it as out of date and email me.
In an engagement, the signed agreement governs over this page. Questions about any of this, including how it would apply to your organization: hello@midyau.com.
